Here’s one of entries for our Valentine’s Day Couples Contest! Roserevolution and Agent Bishie are cosplaying as Jessie and James from Pokemon. Roserevolution used our Athena in dark red wig with extensions. She even styled the wig! Agent Bishie used our Hestia wig in light blue! Look on to see some more about their cosplays!
What inspired you to do these cosplays? We wanted to bring these characters to life, but weren’t that excited about making their default outfits. Team Rocket is always showing up in wacky disguises, we chose these outfits from an episode where they’re running a fake Pokemon Salon. There was something silly and unique about the genderswapped clothing, but their over-the-top villain personalities shine through. There were a lot of challenges in drafting the gown for a man, and getting the jacket to fit well.
What got you into cosplay?
We’ve been cosplaying together for about 12 years now, and neither one of us can really answer this! It’s a fun way to show your enjoyment of a character, and a great creative outlet. Both of us were very into dressing up for Halloween before the internet existed and we found out there were others with this hobby, so it feels like a natural progression.
Why do you love cosplay?
Agent Bishie: For a few days out of the year you’re not just a fan of the character, you are the character. Additionally, masquerades are a great outlet for my love of acting. Roserevolution: I like the creative challenge of translating a fictional character to real life, and have made some amazing friends through this hobby.
